The Thailand Hotel Pool of Our Dreams
I don’t know about you but one of the first things I look at when deciding on a hotel is its pool...
There's nothing quite like carving out a full day on vacation to recline on a lounge chair with a good book and a refreshing cocktail while soaking up the sun by a gorgeous liquid oasis.
One such gem I've been enamored with since it was first introduced to us from our friend Lee at Dynamic PR, is the stunning pool at 137 Pillars House in Thailand. (We haven't been to Thailand yet but it's at the top of our list!)
Since I never need an excuse to spend countless hours researching luxury hotels, I jumped on the opportunity to dive in further....
Hotel Overview
THE VIBE
This exquisite hotel is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of The World and features every amenity that you could ever hope for and a spectacular staff to boot. From a craft cocktail bar, gourmet farm-to-table dining, and indulgent afternoon tea to luxuriously-appointed suites that each feature outdoor space overlooking tropical gardens, it will leave even the most discerning of guests wanting for nothing.
LOCATION
137 Pillars House is located in Northern Thailand in the city of Chiang Mai (Chiang Mai is the name of both the province and its largest city). This area is a treasure trove of ancient remains, buddhist temples, authentic Thai cuisine, art, shopping, and of course breathtaking natural surroundings.
The Suites
The hotel features 5 different suites of varying sizes with distinctive decor and style. Each has a Victorian bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers, and even a pillow menu! The DF Macfie Suite has a large open-air conservatory that can be converted into a sleeping space while The Louis Leonowens Suite (pictured) boasts a secluded balcony and a sleek private swimming pool.
Food & Drink
Take your pick between the various dining options 137 Pillars has to offer...
MORNING: Maybe you'd like to take your breakfast in the comfort of your own suite (breakfast in bed, anyone?) with private dining, or you can head to 'The Dining Room' to savor in a harvest morning meal complete with homemade pastries, cold-pressed juices, and fresh egg dishes.
AFTERNOON: Enjoy Afternoon Tea in the tropical gardens or in the Parlour, where you can enjoy light bites paired with signature teas.
EVENING: Before dinner, treat yourself to some libations at Jack Bain's bar which features a menu of both classic and contemporary cocktails in a moody, luxe setting.
Top it all off with a memorable gourmet dinner at Palette and choose from a selection of both Eastern and Western dishes complimented with attentive service and live piano music.
Wellness
Unwind and recharge with soothing treatments designed to calm your body and mind at the Nitra Serenity Center.
Thier spa menu features an array of options from Thai Massages to Deep Body Scrubs to Rejuvenating Facials and more. (You can even enjoy a signature massage in your suite!)
There is also a 24-hour gym so you don't have to skip out on your exercise routine just because you're on vaca!
The Pool
Described as ‘an oasis of peace’, this striking infinity style pool features an impressive vertical green wall made from flowers and tropical plants.
This beautiful wall (which reminds me a little of The Secret Garden mixed with the dreamlike quality of Alice in Wonderland) provides a serene and tranquil atomosphere for guests to bask in bliss from dawn till dusk.
And yes, there’s poolside service of course. You can sip fresh juices, cocktails, and enjoy bites from the restaurant all from the comfort of your sunlounger.
What I'd Pack
I always aim to pack versatile and colorful pieces for vacation and I love that the print on The Cardamom Robe and Sarong fits in with the tropical environment of Thailand. I'm definitely throwing some scrunchies in my bag to tie my hair up in the heat.
This piece works great over an outfit or over a swimsuit.
This sarong can be tied in 5 different ways for various looks.
These work great to tie your hair up and the soft material prevents damage
Final Thoughts
With over 1,500 5-star reviews on Tripadvisor, the stunning historical and tropical setting, top-notch service, and expansive luxurious accommodations, 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai is an exquisite choice for your next Thailand trip.
There's plenty to do within the hotel grounds itself from swimming, dining, and luxuriating and it's also located in a prime setting for exploring the local culture of Chaing Mai.
We hope this has you dreaming about your next getaway!
